I find my place in the world. To be new zealand new zealand is a small country. Located on the south western of the pacific ocean. Southern hemisphere. Maori are the indigenous people of new zealand. New zealand is also known as aotearoa which means the long white cloud. The treaty of waitangi was signed in 1840 between the british and the maori making them part of the british empire. Major cities of new zealand are christchurch hamilton dunedin and auckland being the largest city wellington being the capital. For a small country new zealand has a decent population of 4.5 million people which grows more and more every year. New zealand is identified to be good at rugby like the all blacks are popular in new zealand new zealand does not just play rugby we have a variety of sports like soccer cricket golf netball and others. New zealand is known for many famous people such as sir edmund hillary russell crowe even lord of the rings was filmed in new zealand. New zealand has many icons for example buzzy bee kiwi fruit silver ferns jandals and rugby. But the most popular icon for new zealand is the flightless bird known as a kiwi kiwi doesn't just live anywhere. So since my speech is nearly over i'm going to talk about my top ten favourite maori foods. Fried bread boil up hangi stuffing and kumaras. Rewana bread maori bread raw fish paua and puha.
